WAKANDA FOREVER!
Marvel released a brand new trailer for its Black Panther series, and while it's full of details from our first look at Ironheart to an extended preview of Namor, the Black Panther 2 trailer holds its big surprises for the finale. Last season, we finally learned about Wakanda's new defences.
Black Panther 2 breaks on vacation
The first trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ends with a glimpse of the titular hero, but they're so dark that all you see are broken legs and arms in the background. In this new trailer, we get a great look. In the final shot, we see Black Panther fall from the top and land in a cool superhero pose. The camera pans to reveal the unmistakable female form hidden behind the dress and mask.
The new Black Panther is apparently a female character, but who could it be? Let's break down the possibilities.
SHURI IS THE NEW BLACK PANTHER
Anti-vax controversy aside, Letitia Wright feels like the obvious choice to replace Chadwick Boseman in the role. Her character, Shuri, is a member of the royal family of Wakanda and T'Challah's sister, which obviously makes her next in line. It also made the Superhero's condition on previous movies in previous movies for its amazing intelligence.
Newspaper listed in October 3 by surprise seems to support this process, put shuri in the centre of the event. It was the wrong way, or Black Panther 2 revealed the name of its hero.
NAKIA IS THE NEW BLACK PANTHER
After the first trailer hinted that Lupita Nyong'o was destined for the role, we thought it was obvious. The new trailer and poster don't exactly support that idea, but they don't disprove it either. Nakia also has the field experience you would need to be a Black Panther, and is sure to do a great job in Wakanda forever.
It is possible that many characters will take over in Black Panther 2. What if Shuri and Nakia play different roles in the movie? Speaking of...
OKOYE IS THE NEW BLACK PANTHER
Played by Danai Gurira, Okoye has the talent to serve as the Black Panther. It's a bit of a stretch, but it's totally possible, especially if more characters end up wearing the costume in Black Panther 2.
QUEEN RAMONDA IS THE NEW BLACK PANTHER
It is the greatest length of all, but it is not impossible. We know that Angela Bassett's character survived the Snap that covered both T'Challah and Shuri. Is it possible that we're seeing a flashback here for a moment in the Blip where the Queen of Wakanda has no choice but to take on the role of Black Panther herself? Either way, it seems unlikely that Black Panther 2 will end with Ramonda crowned as the iconic hero.
